~Policies~CORE RETURN POLICY In order for us to supply quality remanufactured engines and parts to the public at economical prices we must factor in the value of the old, worn out engine (core). Some cores are only worth scrap prices but others have great value depending upon supply and demand. The old core must be received for credit within thirty (3O) days from date of invoice or we will assume the replacement was sold outright and remove it from our records of engines on which deposits can be credited. Often the engine sent to you was built from a core we have sourced from an outside core supplier. The core suppliers are very strict as far as returns are concerned and they mean returned in 30 days. They commonly deny us core credit which is passed on to you when returned after 30 days so please return that core in a timely fashion so the core suppliers can keep them in play. Core Deposit refunds will by default be mailed in 30 days. ENGINE RETURN POLICY Due to the nature of the industry, engines are not returnable and we do not have a money back guarantee. There are thousands of different engine combinations and it's possible that we may ship one incorrectly. We operate on a tiny margin and must be allowed an opportunity to return the wrong engine, build and ship the correct engine in a reasonable time. Getting stuck with an incorrect engine for the shelf places a great strain on us as the cost of building one wipes out the profit of the next few engines. Of the 1400 engines in our database, fewer than 15 comprise more than 1% of the market. Custom engines built incorrectly will sit around here for months or years. If we ship an engine that does not fit properly, the core engine, whether rebuildable or not should be sent back with the non fitting engine to save in shipping costs and to allow us the opportunity to match and rectify the problem. Hopefully we will be able to use new parts from the incorrectly built engine to build the correct one. Longblock engines ordered from completed, assembled stock are subject to a 30% restocking charge if returned, regardless of reason. Store credits are issued 30 days of receipt of engine cores except for marine engines which are not credited from September 1st until April 1st. . Engines from completed, assembled stock, returned with ripped open bags or any sign of dust contamination or other damage, must be torn down, cleaned and reassembled using new gasket sets, tested and are subject to a restocking charge of 50%. Please. Please, keep returns perfectly clean. Any engines requiring finish assembly or machining at the time of ordering, are considered custom engines and are not returnable. Remanufactured.com shall not be liable for any delay in or impairment of performance resulting in whole or in part from Acts of God, labor disruptions, shortages, inability to procure product, supplies or raw materials, mistakes made in ordering, severe weather conditions, or any circumstances or cause beyond the control of Remanufactured.com in the conduct of it’s business. As I am writing this we are waiting for parts on a 1960's Mercedes Benz engine. The customer was quoted 14 days if parts availability is there and the dealer confirmed availability. The reality is there are none in the USA and the dealer is having bearings sent from Germany. The customer is mildly annoyed with us although we invoked parts availability as a factor. Another area where problems can arise is in regular parts procurement. For example: we can't get Mitsubishi 2.0 kits correctly first time through because the books are wrong and someone at the warehouse will screw it up. In this business in the last 3 years the great majority of the engine parts manufacturers have filed for bankruptcy. The number of parts warehouses still in business has been more than cut in half and parts ordering has gotten a bit flakey. I doubt there are 5 reasonably priced sources for engine parts in the whole country now. If a delay is encountered, please be patient |
