LIMITED SHORTBLOCK
WARRANTY
We warrant our short-block
engines to be free from defects in materials & workmanship for a
period of 90 days from date of sale or unlimited miles whichever comes
first, subject to the following terms and conditions:
Including but not limited to, the short block
engine warranty specifically does not include cylinder heads, lifters, oil
pump, valve covers, filler cap, oil filter, oil filter bypass valve, oil
filter housing, oil pan, gaskets, flywheels, timing cover, external oil
pumps, water pumps, fuel pumps, intake and exhaust manifolds,
distributors, thermostats, donuts, ECM's, electrical parts of any kind,
seals, fuel injectors or any fuel injection components or damage to the
long block that may have been caused by the failure of these or other
components. Damage to the engine by the failure of any cooling system
component, fuel system component, lubrication system component, filtration
system component, ignition system component or emission system component
is not covered.
This warranty does not apply to any engine damage that may have been
caused by overheating. This includes but is not limited to baked or blown
gaskets, cylinder head cracking, valves stuck, piston scuffing, melting or
slapping. This warranty does not apply to engine damage caused by
pre-ignition or detonation. This includes but is not limited to melted or
broken pistons, broken piston rings, bent connecting rods damaged cylinder
heads, etc.
This warranty does not apply to any engine damage that may have been
caused by lack of lubrication regardless of cause or over-revving
(excessive speed).
This includes but is not limited to scored, melted or otherwise damaged
main and connecting rod bearings, stretched connecting rod bolts, broken
connecting rods and crankshaft damage. Due to the repeated chemical
stripping and other cleaning procedures at the assembly facility, damage
that may have been caused by dirt contamination will be assumed to come
from unwarranted improper installation.
Warranty on engines used for racing, street performance or engines with
high lift camshafts, high volume pumps, headers, after-market carburetors
or other non-original equipment will be decided by the A.S.E. certified
Master Mechanic on staff at remanufactured.com. His decision is final!
Towing, phone calls, cab fares, missed opportunities, miscellaneous
expenses, etc. will not be paid for.
The purchaser must have engine service adjustments performed as detailed
on page titled 500 Mile Check.
Cash value of this and any other warranty and it's effectiveness may be
applied to unpaid invoice balance or unpaid core charges fourteen days
after the engine transaction has been initiated rendering all warranties
null and void. Later payment will not restore any warranty.
Warranty will be limited only to replacement of the short block engine.
Due to the extremely high number of botched short block installations any
benefit of the doubt will be given to remanufactured.com. Short block
installation is the most exacting and least forgiving job you can perform
on a vehicle. You should be an expert.
No labor claims, transportation costs or material claims will be paid on
short blocks.
In the event that any provision of these terms and conditions are held
unenforceable, it will not affect the validity and enforceability of the
remaining provisions and will be replaced by an enforceable provision that
comes the closest to the intention underlying the unenforceable provision.
This warranty covers internal combustion engine assemblies strictly sold
for resale and commercial applications which are not to be considered
consumer purchases. Consumer warranty action shall be with the reseller or
intermediate installer. In any action between Buyer and Remanufactured.com
whether sounding in contract tort or otherwise, if Remanufactured.com is
the prevailing party, Remanufactured.com will be entitled to recover its
reasonable attorney’s fees and expenses including fees incurred in
arbitration, mediation, at trial, on appeal, or post-judgment. Any
provision in any final judgment rendered in favor of Remanufactured.com
will contain a provision allowing for the later assessment of attorney’s
fees and costs incurred in the collection of any judgment. If Buyer does
not satisfy the judgment when entered, all past due amounts are subject to
service charges of 1 1/2 percent per month or the maximum lawful contract
rate permitted by law. There are no warranties of merchantability or
fitness for any particular purpose.
In the course of determining cause of engine failure it is often necessary
to expend labor. (e.g: performing tests, removing and disassembling the
engine.) If the damage is determined to not be covered under this warranty
the installing shop should stop and advise the purchaser. Labor costs up
to that point must be paid by the purchaser. It is the engine buyers
responsibility to have gages and dash lights operational and monitored.
Gages and dash lights that fail to operate are never
remanufactured.com responsibility. Damage to the engine that may have been
caused by overheating or loss of oil pressure or excessive engine speed is
never to be made the responsibility of remanufactured.com.
I.E. A freeze plug pops out draining the coolant from the engine. If the
driver shuts off the engine immediately before the engine overheats the
warranty repair will be fast and under terms of the warranty. If the
driver fails to see the warning light or gauge and the engine continues to
be driven the engine will be extensively damaged. We will replace the
freeze plug when the short block is brought to us. You will be responsible
for the melted pistons, cracked heads, blown gaskets and coolant, etc.
I, the purchaser have read and understand the above terms of this
warranty.
